ABOUT ME
Hi I’m Tasha Louise Cox
I trained to be a Doula in early 2022. Before furthering my training in Birth keeping in 2023. I feel honoured that I get to do what I love. I get to offer a service I feel so passionate about.
A bit of history; I studied Law at university and trained to be a Therapeutic Counsellor. This led me to work in a secondary school in pastoral support then within a homeless hostel as a life coach. I have also volunteered for Cruse bereavement and most recently volunteered within my local maternity ward and Devon Maternity and neonatal Voices. Advocating and implanting change within maternity services.
So what lead me to become a Birth Keeper?…. Having struggled to conceive for 4 years after fertility testing and failed treatments, we finally welcomed our first daughter in 2015. Over the next 6 years we went on to have another 5 children, 3 girls and then I successfully gender swayed for 3 boys. I was blessed to have 6 good pregnancies and 6 natural births. 4 in hospital, 2 at home, 3 in water. Although I consider them to have been good births there is still things I would change. Over this period of 10 years I built up a vast knowledge and experience of fertility, pregnancy, birth and how to care for a newborn. I have supported 100s of women online.
I have expanded my knowledge by completing a breastfeeding consultation course and currently doing further advanced training bridging the gap between Doula and Midwife.
I wish to empower women to take control of their births, own their bodies and totally boss labour. But also be there to offer unconditional support when things don’t pan out like they hoped.
I look forward to meeting you and your family, and supporting you through one of the most magical times. Birth is truly amazing!!
